Admission Awards
The University of Toronto, along with its colleges, faculties and divisions, administer over 5,700 admission awards that total nearly $36 million.
Eligible high school students (including international candidates) are automatically considered for a variety of admission scholarships when you apply to U of T.
U of T also offers awards to Canadian students on the basis of criteria such as financial need, academic merit, Indigenous background, first generation students, demonstrated leadership, etc. A separate supplementary application must be submitted for these awards.

Spotlight: Admission Awards
National Scholarship
The National Scholarship program recognizes original and creative thinkers, community leaders, and high academic achievers. It is U of T’s most prestigious award for Canadian high school students entering the university and offers full-ride scholarships to National Scholars.
Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship
The Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship program recognizes international students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement who are recognized as leaders within their school. The Pearson Scholars receive full-ride scholarships.
U of T Mississauga Guaranteed Entrance Scholarship
U of T Mississauga offers three levels of guaranteed entrance scholarships to all domestic and international students upon admission to their campus with the admitted averages starting at 90.0%.

U of T Scarborough Entrance Scholarships
Domestic students (Canadian citizens and permanent residents) applying from secondary school who are admitted to U of T Scarborough will automatically be considered for entrance scholarships.

University of Toronto Scholars Program
The U of T Scholars Program provides recognition to the University’s outstanding students, at admission and on an on-going basis. In some cases a U of T Scholars award is tenable in conjunction with other admission awards that students may receive from their college/faculty. Outstanding domestic and international secondary school students are considered automatically for these awards on the basis of their average at the time of admission.
President’s Scholars of Excellence Program
Approximately 150 of the most highly qualified students applying to first year of direct-entry, undergraduate studies will be distinguished as President’s Scholars of Excellence. Outstanding domestic and international secondary school students are considered automatically for the President’s Scholars of Excellence Program (PSEP) upon admission (i.e. a separate application is not required).

How do I apply for Financial Aid?
If you are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person, there are many sources of financial aid available to help you cover the costs of your University of Toronto education – from OSAP and other government aid, to assistance provided by the University. Explore your options.
If you are an international applicant, you should find out about your home country’s financial aid programs to see if you qualify for assistance. The University of Toronto is a publicly-funded institution and because of that cannot offer financial aid to international students. How do I apply for OSAP?
Apply online at https://www.ontario.ca/osap
Submit your OSAP application, then print and sign the consents and declaration pages – and any other required supporting documentation – and upload to your account on the OSAP website.
Follow the instructions provided to complete your online Master Student Financial Assistance Agreement (MSFAA) with the National Student Loan Service Centre.
If you are a returning applicant you may not need to submit any documentation.

How do I apply for Scholarships?
Eligible high school students are automatically considered for a variety of admission scholarships when they apply to the University. There are also admissions scholarships that require a separate application, and others that require you to complete an awards profile.
Note, however, that the value of scholarships is rarely sufficient to cover all costs the student will incur while attending University of Toronto.
