Description
The University of Oregon offers this scholarship, endowed by Norman and Donna Sundberg, to support graduate students whose work is focused on Southeast Asia.
What’s Offered
One award of USD 2,000
Can be used to cover educational expenses including tuition supplements, research travel, equipment, books, or other relevant academic needs
Eligibility Criteria
Open to current master’s, doctoral, or law students
Preference given to candidates from Southeast Asian nations or whose research engages Southeast Asia
Must be enrolled full time when the award is granted
Must maintain satisfactory academic progress
Application Requirements
A 600-word statement addressed to non-specialist readers, outlining your scholarly interests in Southeast Asia, professional aims, and how you will use the funds
Two recommendation letters: one from the faculty advisor, and one from another University of Oregon faculty member
Deadline
Applications and supporting materials—including both recommendation letters—are due March 2, 2026, at 11:59 PM
