Description
This fellowship is for recent law graduates who are building a path toward teaching and scholarship in law. It gives them a year in residence at Harvard Law School to focus on producing a major scholarly article, engaging deeply in legal research, and developing their academic profile.
What You’ll Get
One-year position beginning July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027.
An annual stipend of USD 60,000.
Full access to Harvard’s academic environment: you can audit courses, attend workshops, use the library and other school resources.
Mentorship and collaboration with faculty, and a structured research plan agreed with a selection committee.
Who Can Apply
Those who have law degrees (J.D., LL.M., or S.J.D.) and are recent graduates.
Candidates with strong interest in legal scholarship and law teaching.
Applicants who propose a publishable research project, and show promise in both research and pedagogy.
Expectations
Produce at least one major article intended for publication.
Be in residence at Harvard Law School for the academic year.
Follow an agreed research schedule and participate in seminars, workshops, and legal scholarship activities.

Applications must be submitted by October 2, 2025.
