One World Media Fellowship

Description

The One World Media Fellowship supports mid-career journalists, documentary filmmakers, and media creators from the Global South to tell underrepresented stories with impact. It offers not just funding, but mentoring, community, and professional growth.

What You’ll Receive

  • A reporting grant between £1,000-£3,000 to help produce your nonfiction media project.

  • Guidance from experienced industry mentors and an Executive Producer to support your storytelling.

  • Access to workshops, training, and events to sharpen your skills in journalism, film, audio, photography or multimedia.

  • Connection with a network of peers and alumni working on powerful non-fiction stories from low- and middle-income countries.

Who Can Apply

  • Journalists or filmmakers with some experience (mid-career level) from Global South countries.

  • Projects that are in early/pre-production stages, able to be completed within about one year.

  • Story ideas that tackle issues underreported in mainstream media, told with creativity, relevance, and ethical care.

  • Applicants who can demonstrate they have access, capacity, and reason to finish and share their work.

Why It Matters
This fellowship is more than just a grant—it’s a platform to amplify voices often left out of global media. It helps storytellers bring change by raising awareness, building empathy, and challenging stereotypes through honest, creative, and localized storytelling.

Deadline
Applications close on 20 August 2025 for the next round.
