MIPDaL – Master’s in Intellectual Property & Data Law (2026/2027 Intake)

Overview
MIPDaL is an Erasmus Mundus joint master’s programme offered by a consortium of universities in Estonia, France, Germany, Spain, and the UK. It trains students in intellectual property law and data policy across multiple countries and languages.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicants must hold a four-year law degree (or equivalent) or a degree with substantial law content that is recognized by all partner universities.

  • Two study countries used in the programme must both differ from your country of residence.

  • Applicants should be among the top students in their cohort.

  • Language proficiency: typically C1 level English; C1 French or B2 Spanish required for certain tracks.

Documents & Application

  • Required items include transcripts, certificates, CV, statement of purpose, proof of language proficiency, and ID.

  • Applications are through the MIPDaL portal. Documents must be submitted in full to qualify.

  • There are specific criteria & conditional offers for those still completing their degrees.

Costs & Fees

  • Tuition fees: €9,900 for students from EU / associated countries; €11,900 for non-EU students.

  • A non-refundable first installment is required upon acceptance; refund rules vary depending on withdrawal timing.

  • Additional top-up fees may apply for students who spend semester two at certain UK institutions.

  • Students handle living costs, travel/accommodation during semesters, and any visa or study materials costs, except where covered by scholarship.

Scholarships & Funding

  • Up to 60 Erasmus Mundus scholarships are awarded over five years (≈12 per year).

  • Scholarship holders do not pay tuition and receive support for living, travel, etc.

  • Partial or full tuition waivers available for those not eligible for the Erasmus Mundus scholarship.

  • To be eligible for scholarship consideration, all documents must be submitted by 15 January 2026; general application deadline is 15 March 2026.
