MDPI Young Women in Engineering Award

Description

The MDPI Young Women in Engineering Award recognises outstanding early-career female engineers who have made significant contributions to the field of engineering. It is aimed at promoting women in engineering research and inspiring the next generation of female engineers.

What’s Offered

  • Two winners will be selected.
  • Each winner receives CHF 1,000, an electronic certificate, and a voucher to waive article processing charges (APCs) for one submission to an engineering-journal (valid for one year).
  • The winners will be publicly announced on 8 March 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be female engineers who received their PhD no more than 10 years prior to 31 December 2025.
  • Candidates must have produced ground-breaking research and made a significant contribution to engineering.
  • A nomination must be submitted by senior scientists and include: detailed CV with publications and grants, doctorate certificate, and two signed nomination letters from established senior scientists.

Process & Structure

  • Nominations open on 23 June 2025.
  • Nomination deadline is 30 November 2025.
  • An Award Evaluation Committee assesses all nominations and selects winners, announced on 8 March 2026.
