Description
Harvard Law School is now accepting applications for the Reginald F. Lewis Fellowship for Law Teaching, with an appointment beginning July 1, 2026.
The Fellowship is intended to support a recent law graduate who has shown a strong interest in legal scholarship and is preparing for a career in law teaching.
Fellowship Details
Term: July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027
Funding: $60,000 annual stipend
Location: Full‑time residency at Harvard Law School
Commitments:
• Produce at least one major scholarly article for publication
• Participate in courses and faculty workshops
• Follow a research schedule developed with the Lewis Committee
Eligibility
Open to applicants holding a J.D., LL.M, or S.J.D. at the time of application
Application Package
Applicants must submit:
Curriculum vitae or résumé
Research and writing proposal (up to 4 pages)
Statement of interest in teaching and scholarship (up to 4 pages)
Academic transcripts
Two letters of reference (to be uploaded directly by recommenders)

About the Fellowship
The Reginald F. Lewis Fellowship was established through the generosity of Reginald F. Lewis (HLS ’68) and Loida Nicolas-Lewis. Mr. Lewis, founder of TLC Beatrice Foods International and author of Why Should White Guys Have All the Fun?, left a lasting legacy that continues through this fellowship, supporting future leaders in legal scholarship and teaching.
