The University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship (UMGF) is a prestigious, merit-based award available to full-time Master’s and PhD students who demonstrate academic excellence and strong research potential. This fellowship is designed to support students in advancing their graduate studies and contributing impactful research.
🎓 Award Value
Master’s: CAD 20,000 per year, up to 2 years (total CAD 40,000)
PhD: CAD 25,000 per year, up to 4 years (total CAD 100,000)

Applicants must be enrolled full-time in a Master’s or PhD program at the University of Manitoba
Minimum GPA of 3.0 (individual departments may require higher)
Students must be nominated by their academic department
Maximum of 4 years of UMGF funding across all degrees combined
