President’s PhD Scholarships – Imperial College London

The President’s PhD Scholarship at Imperial offers high-performing candidates full financial support to pursue doctoral research at one of the world’s leading universities.

What’s Offered

• Full coverage of tuition fees for the 3.5-year PhD.

• Annual stipend: £26,500 (2026/27 rate) to support living costs.

• A consumables fund of £2,000 per year for the first three years to support research-related costs.

• Access to a dedicated programme of cohort-building and development through Imperial’s Early Career Researcher Institute.

Eligibility Criteria

• Open to new PhD candidates from any country (no nationality restrictions).

• Requires excellent academic credentials: first-class undergraduate degree or distinction in a standalone Master’s.

• Both full-time and part-time study are eligible.

Process & Structure

• Apply for your chosen PhD programme at Imperial and indicate your interest in the President’s Scholarship.

• Departmental review followed by a college-level selection panel decides the final awardees.
