Open Doors Russian Scholarship Project

The Open Doors Russian Scholarship Project gives international students a chance to earn tuition-free study and research opportunities at leading Russian universities in a wide range of academic fields. Participation is fully online, and scholarships are awarded across multiple education levels — from bachelor’s to master’s, doctoral and post-doctoral tracks.

What’s Offered

• Tuition-free education at one of Russia’s top universities.

• Opportunity to study in programs taught in English or Russian, with preparatory language support where available.

• Wide choice of subject areas, including computer science, engineering, medicine, business, economics, environmental sciences and more.

• Monthly stipend may be provided by the host university once the scholar is enrolled (varies by institution).

Eligibility Criteria

• Open to international citizens and stateless persons who have completed or are completing secondary or higher education depending on the track.

• Bachelor’s track for secondary school graduates; master’s and doctoral tracks for applicants with the relevant university degrees.

• Post-doctoral applicants must already hold a doctoral degree.

Process & Structure

• Registration: 1 September – 16 November 2025.

• Portfolio Submission: Prepare and upload your portfolio (including documents, certificates and motivation).

• First Stage: Portfolio grading and initial selection.

• Second Stage: Online task sessions or assessments by subject area (December 2025).

• Third Stage (Doctoral/Post-doctoral): Interviews with potential research supervisors.

• Winners are announced for each track, and successful candidates can then proceed with admission and enrollment.
