NL Scholarship – Study in the Netherlands
Description
The NL Scholarship, funded by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science in partnership with Dutch universities and universities of applied sciences, supports talented international students outside the European Economic Area (EEA) pursuing full-time bachelor’s or master’s degrees in the Netherlands.
- Award: €5,000 in the first year of study (one-time payment—this is not a full-tuition scholarship)
- Eligibility: Open to non-EEA nationals applying for English-taught programmes at participating Dutch institutions; applicants must not already hold a degree from a Dutch institution.
- Participating Institutions (2025–2026 cohort): Examples include Utrecht University, University of Groningen, Erasmus University Rotterdam, TU Delft, Maastricht University, and several universities of applied sciences.
- How to Apply: Apply for your chosen programme directly and then opt-in for the NL Scholarship via the institution’s portal, each university manages applications differently, so check their website for details.
- Deadline: Varies by institution, but typically falls between January and February for the September intake; some universities may offer multiple rounds. For example, the University of Twente has deadlines of 1 February and 1 May.
