The International Writers’ Workshop at Hong Kong Baptist University welcomes writers worldwide to its prestigious Writers‑in‑Residence Programme, running from 2 to 29 March 2026. Founded in 2004, IWW has hosted over 150 writers from more than 55 countries.
📌 Theme & Festival
The residency concludes with the IWW Literary Festival, centered on the theme “Here and There.” While responding to the theme is encouraged, it is not mandatory.
🎁 What’s Included
Return economy-class airfare
Accommodation on HKBU campus for four weeks
A daily stipend/per diem during the residency period
✅ Who Can Apply
Writers must:
Have at least one published book
Reside outside of Hong Kong
Be proficient in English, Mandarin, or Cantonese
Be available for the full residency (2–29 March 2026), including the Welcome Ceremony and Literary Festival
📝 Application Requirements
Submit a single PDF containing:
1-page artist statement (English or Chinese; if in Chinese, include a brief English summary)
Writing sample (12–15 pages: fiction, poetry, drama, etc.; provide translation if not in English or Chinese)
Curriculum vitae (CV or résumé)
Contact info for two referees
Ensure all documents use 12‑point font and 1‑inch margins
