The Eric Bleumink Fund provides fully funded scholarships to exceptionally talented students from eligible developing countries who wish to pursue a Master’s degree at the University of Groningen. ✅ Eligibility Criteria

  • Must hold conditional or unconditional admission to a University of Groningen Master’s program before February of the intake year

  • Outstanding academic record, often demonstrated through excellent undergraduate grades and strong letters of recommendation

  • Fluent in English, meeting Master’s admission standards

  • Citizens of eligible developing countries only

  • Demonstrated financial need (no other means of funding the program)

  • Must commit to full participation in a one- or two-year Master’s program and meet health requirements

📝 Selection & Nomination

  • Candidates cannot apply directly—nominations are made by the University of Groningen’s Admission Office and departmental admission committees

  • Each faculty nominates only a limited number of students each year

  • A selection committee reviews nominees in March and notifies students shortly thereafter

📆 Important Timing

  • Apply for your Master’s program by December 1 to be eligible for nomination

  • Admission must be granted by February

  • Scholarship decisions announced in March

  • Courses typically begin in September
