EM’s Institute of Graduate Studies and Research offers robust scholarship opportunities for international and Turkish students pursuing graduate degrees—specifically tailored for Master’s and PhD programs.

Scholarship Overview

• PhD Programs: Eligible for 100% or 50% tuition waivers for both international and Turkish applicants. Each department can award one full and one half scholarship per intake. grad.emu.edu.trkabulscholarship.com

• Master’s Programs:

• Turkish students can compete for 100% or 50% tuition coverage, depending on academic merit.
• International students are eligible for a 50% tuition waiver, typically granted upon acceptance.

Eligibility and Criteria

• Open to first-time enrollees only—those previously registered, terminated, or dropped out are not eligible for reapplication. grad.emu.edu.trkabulscholarship.com

• Minimum academic threshold: Undergraduate CGPA of ≥ 3.00/4.00 or

  • CGPA between 2.75–2.99 combined with a graduate CGPA of ≥ 3.50/4.00, or (for Turkish students) an ALES score ≥ 65.

• Final selection is based on departmental assessment, which looks beyond CGPA to evaluate overall research potential and fit.

What's Included

• Tuition fee waivers only—other costs such as student services, books, and initial registration fees are not covered.

• Duration of support:

  • Non-thesis Master’s: up to 3 semesters

  • Thesis Master’s: up to 4 semesters

  • PhD: up to 10 semesters

Research Assistantship (Category E)

• Students awarded a 100% scholarship can be appointed as Category E Research Assistants—working 6 hours/week (minimum).

• This role comes with additional stipends and reinforces academic engagement.

Application Process & Timeline

• Scholarships are awarded during Fall & Spring intake cycles. Applications are submitted through EMU’s graduate portal during the standard admission process.

• Deadlines follow the Scholarship Calendar and often close several weeks before semester start.
