Description
The AMIR Master Programme (Advanced Materials for Innovative Recycling) is a two-year interdisciplinary Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s degree that trains future leaders in materials science, recycling, sustainability, and circular economy. It combines academic excellence with practical innovation and entrepreneurship, preparing graduates to work across industries concerned with raw materials and sustainable production.
What’s Offered
A 120 ECTS Master’s degree with the possibility of double diplomas from partner universities.
Study mobility across multiple European universities with expertise in materials, recycling, and sustainable engineering.
Exposure to innovation, entrepreneurship and collaboration with industrial and research partners.
Summer school and networking events that connect students with professionals, alumni and industry stakeholders.
Scholarships may be available, including EIT Label grants for selected students in certain cohorts.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have a relevant bachelor’s degree (e.g., chemistry, materials science, engineering or related fields).
English proficiency is required.
Selection is competitive and based on academic merit, motivation and fit with the interdisciplinary goals of the programme.
Process & Structure
The programme covers four semesters (two academic years), with students studying at different partner institutions based on their chosen track.
In the first year, students study foundational subjects such as materials science, recycling processes, sustainability and innovation.
In the second year, students choose a specialisation (e.g., metallurgy recycling, design for recycling, circular economy of building materials) offered by partner universities.
The final semester includes a thesis and internship/research project that integrates sustainability, innovation and professional experience.
