The CERC Migration and Bridging Divides Journalism Fellowship is a fully funded, short-term residency hosted by Toronto Metropolitan University (Canada). Designed for experienced journalists, the program offers a unique opportunity to engage with cutting-edge research on migration and integration, strengthening the depth, accuracy, and global relevance of reporting on complex social issues.
What’s Offered

Eligibility Criteria
- Open to staff or freelance journalists worldwide
- Must have at least 5 years of professional media experience
- Proven track record covering topics such as:

- Economy
- Ability to report on complex, internationally relevant issues
Program Structure
- Residency duration: 20–35 consecutive days
- Program period: March 1 – November 30, 2026 (excluding July & August)
- Fellows engage in:
- Academic collaboration with research teams
- Participation in seminars and workshops
- Independent research or field-related activities
- No requirement to publish work during or after the fellowship
- Strong focus on knowledge exchange between journalism and academia
