Description

The Hansen Leadership Institute (HLI) is a three-week, fully funded global leadership program held in San Diego, USA, designed to bring together young leaders from around the world to cultivate ethical leadership, conflict resolution, communication skills, and international cooperation. The program is grounded in peacebuilding, intercultural understanding, and lifelong collaboration.

What’s Offered

  • A fully funded residential experience from July 1–22, 2026 — including round-trip international airfare, accommodation, meals, visa support documents, and all program costs.

  • Intensive training in visionary leadership, mediation and conflict resolution, effective communication, public speaking, and human rights.

  • A diverse international cohort — participants learn and collaborate with peers from conflict-affected regions and diverse cultural backgrounds.

  • Access to a global alumni network that supports ongoing projects, mentorship and impact across contexts.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be 20–25 years old on July 1, 2026.

  • Have completed at least one year of college/university by the time of application; recent graduates from 2024 or 2025 also qualify.

  • Must demonstrate leadership potential through community service, public service, NGO work, or related engagement.

  • English proficiency must be verified by an academic referee (no separate language test is required).

Program Structure

  • The Institute runs as an immersive, in-person program featuring workshops, simulations, group projects, and leadership labs.

  • Fellows are expected to be present for the full duration of the three-week course — late arrivals or early departures are not permitted.

  • The program brings together training in leadership, peacebuilding and intercultural collaboration to equip participants to drive positive change in their communities.
