Description

The MAGMa programme (Managing Art & Cultural Heritage in Global Markets) is a two-year Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s degree that equips students with multidisciplinary skills to work in the global art, culture and heritage sectors. It combines academic learning with real-world professional contexts and international mobility across top European institutions.

What’s Offered

  • A multiple Master’s degree from a consortium of five European universities, including the University of Glasgow, ISCTE–University Institute of Lisbon, Universidade de Lisboa, IESA Arts & Culture Paris, and Erasmus University Rotterdam.

  • Exposure to global expertise in art markets, cultural economics, heritage law, and management.

  • Study in multiple cities such as Lisbon, Paris, Rotterdam, and Glasgow, plus optional summer/winter schools.

  • Applicants must hold a relevant bachelor’s degree (e.g., art history, economics, cultural management, law or related fields).

Process & Structure

  • The programme is delivered by a consortium of universities, with mandatory mobility across partner institutions.

  • Students complete theoretical and practice-based modules across different countries and produce a dissertation in their final semester.

Scholarship

  • Erasmus Mundus Scholarships for MAGMa provide up to €33,600 over the two years, covering tuition fees, travel insurance and a living stipend while students move between locations.
