Description
The Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend for international students at Murdoch University supports full-time graduate research candidates (Master by Research or Doctoral) with a living allowance and access to a research-intensive environment in Australia.
What’s Offered
A tax-exempt living allowance of approximately AUD $37,000 per annum for the duration of the award.
Support for full-time candidature: up to 2 years for a research-based master’s, and up to 3.5 years for a doctorate.

Eligibility Criteria
Open to international fee-paying students applying for a research-based Master or Doctorate.
Applicants must hold a qualification equivalent to First Class Honours, H2A, or a Master’s with a significant thesis component.
Must apply for full-time candidature and meet admission requirements of the relevant Murdoch research degree.
Process & Structure
The scholarship round opens annually: for example, applications for the 2026 intake open in mid-2025.
You submit a research proposal, CV, references, and documentation of academic achievements via the Graduate Research Office.
Selection is merit-based, focusing on academic excellence, research potential, and supervisor availability.
If awarded, you enrol in your research degree and receive the stipend for the approved period.
