Bonn International Fellowships

The Bonn International Fellowships program invites outstanding researchers from around the world to spend a short stay at the University of Bonn (up to 12 days). It’s designed to build international collaboration, make research visible, and open doors for longer-term partnerships.

What you get:

• A daily allowance of €160 while in Bonn (for up to 12 days, including travel days)

• Travel costs covered, depending on your country of origin

• Up to €500 for supporting events during your visit (seminars, outreach, public lectures etc.)

Who can apply:

• Post-doctoral researchers or experienced faculty based abroad

• Scholars must be formally invited by a host at the University of Bonn

• Applicants need a strong international research reputation

Expectations:

• Your visit should contribute to Bonn’s academic life: seminars, colloquia, lectures, or public engagement

• Aim to build future research collaborations with your host at Bonn

• The stay must happen between January 1, 2026 and December 31, 2026

• All funding must be used by end of 2026

Timeline:

• Application deadline: 22 September 2025 (5:00 pm CET)

• Results become available by early December 2025
