Description
This programme offers early-career scientists from Least Developed Countries (LDCs) a 3-month research stay in Italy to build skills, collaborate on advanced projects, and contribute to sustainable development.
What You Get
Fully funded travel and living expenses
Access to host labs in Italy (Trieste, Udine, etc.) and hands-on research/training in fields linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals
Opportunity to work under expert supervision in internationally recognized institutions
Who Can Apply
Scientists under the age of 40 from LDCs
Holders of an MSc (or higher) degree with a research position in their home country
Research proposals relevant to sustainability and aligned with the SDGs
Eligibility & Fields
Must not already be based in Italy for the visit
Eligible host institutions include SISSA, ICGEB, University of Trieste, University of Udine, and other labs in the region
Key scientific fields include physics, neuroscience, mathematics, sustainable blue economy, environmental biology, data science, and COVID-related research, among others
Application Details & Deadline
Proposal must include invitation from host institution, outlining work plan for the 3-month visit
Supporting documents: CV, academic certificates, statement of research interests, publication list, letters of recommendation
