University of Liverpool – International Visiting Research Fellowship (Law & Social Justice)

Description

This fellowship lets academics from outside the UK spend time in Liverpool to build or deepen collaborations with the School of Law & Social Justice. It supports researchers through both funded and self-funded tracks, depending on need and institutional resources.

What you’ll gain:

  • Financial support (travel, accommodation, subsistence) up to about £2,500, with a chance for higher funding (up to ~£5,000) for applicants from under-resourced institutions or regions
  • Full access to university library, IT, sports & other campus services
  • A dedicated office / workspace (if available), plus support for visa processes if needed
  • Opportunities to engage with research clusters, attend seminars, present your work, and develop joint research outputs

Who can apply:

  • Postdoctoral researchers or those with equivalent research experience (advanced doctoral candidates may apply in some cases)
  • Must have a host academic member of staff at the School of Law & Social Justice to support the visit
  • Visits shorter than two weeks are generally not considered

Responsibilities expected:

  • Present a work-in-progress lecture or seminar
  • Take part in school-wide research events or cluster meetings
  • Collaborate on publications or joint funding proposals
  • Produce a short reflective piece or end-of-fellowship report

Key timing:

  • Deadline for the funded track: 31 August 2025
  • Fellows should begin their visit within six months of approval
